Any picture,
as clean lines.

Real results

The picture, then its lines.

Each is what Piclines made of the picture, untouched: the picture on the left, our lines on the right.

How it works

Drop it, name it, size it, take it home.

Up to a minute a picture. Every change you make runs again by itself.

  1. 01

Drop a picture or a PDF

JPG, PNG, WebP, or one page of a PDF. A PDF page drawn in lines is read exactly as drawn.

  2. 02

    Say what it is

Drawing, Shape, Colour or Photo. We guess first; one click changes it.

  3. 03

    Set the true size

Type the width in millimetres, or click two points on the preview and enter the real distance.

  4. 04

    Take the files

DXF, DWG and SVG together, for one credit, and the drawing in our editor if you want to change it. The preview is free.

Exact lines

One line where your drawing has one.

Most tracers draw an outline around every stroke: two lines where CAD needs one. Piclines follows the middle of each stroke, so a line stays a line. For shapes you cut, switch to outlines.

Traced, not redrawn

What is in your picture comes out, and nothing is guessed. No AI service redraws your drawing.

What it reads

For pictures that are almost lines already.

City maps, drawings of devices, patterns, logos, sketches, silhouettes: shapes and lines that just aren't vectors yet.

Drawing

Plans, details, sketches, scans.

Shape

Logos, silhouettes, parts to cut.

Colour

Coloured maps and patterns, a layer per colour.

Photo

A photo of a thing, cut out of its background first.

Formats

Files that open where you work.

DWG and DXF for CAD programs; DXF and SVG for laser cutters, CNC routers and plotters. One download holds all three, at the size you set.

Which files can I upload?

JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF, up to 20 MB. A PDF is converted one page at a time: a page drawn in lines is read exactly as it is, a scanned page is traced like a picture.

What comes out?

A zip named after your picture, with DXF, DWG (R2004) and SVG inside, at the size you set. A coloured picture gets a layer per colour.

How is the size set?

A picture comes out 200 mm wide. Type another width, or click two points on the preview and enter the real distance between them. A PDF page keeps the size of its paper.

Does it work with photos?

With a photo of a thing, yes: choose Photo, and the subject is cut out of its background before its lines are traced.

Does Piclines use AI?

No outside AI service. Two small models on our own server find a photo's subject and its edges; nothing redraws your picture or invents details.

What happens to my pictures?

Pictures and results are deleted 24 hours after they are made, with or without an account. No picture is sent to any other company.

Can I edit the lines here?

Yes. After the download, Open in editor opens your drawing in the Piclines Editor, in a new tab: draw, move, trim and dimension lines, then save it as DWG or DXF. The download's credit covers it.

Try it on your own picture.

The preview is free, and you need no account until you download.
